Construction zones can send gravel and debris toward your windshield. Here is what to do if the glass is damaged.
Loose gravel and roadway debris are common around construction zones and resurfacing projects. If something strikes your windshield, keep control of the vehicle, avoid sudden braking, and move to a safe location before inspecting the damage.
Photograph the chip or crack and note its size, location, and whether it reaches the edge of the glass. Avoid washing the vehicle with extreme-temperature water, pressing on the damage, or placing adhesive directly into the chip. These actions can spread the crack or contaminate a repairable area.
